We\u2019re excited to announce that Jasleen Bahia is (re)joining the Tapestry team as Marketing and Communications Associate!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a new role for Jasleen, but she\u2019s not new to Tapestry. She\u2019s worked on several projects with us while earning her degree in Commerce at the University of <\/span>British Columbia\u2019s Sauder School of Business \u2014 starting with a summer associate position after cold-emailing Tapestry to introduce herself and share her passion for social finance. While she studied for a semester in England, Jasleen researched the community finance sector in the U.K. and lessons for the Canadian space, and in the summer of 2023, Jasleen researched legislative and regulatory frameworks for community bonds in Canada.<\/span>\"\"<\/p>\n

In between, Jasleen worked in public policy, in roles with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and a nonprofit think tank. She also explored work in traditional finance, but found her heart was in ethical and sustainable finance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s important to me to feel a sense of purpose and that I\u2019m making an impact. I\u2019ve always found that here,\u201d Jasleen says. \u201cIn a way it feels like coming home \u2014\u00a0it\u2019s a full circle moment now being with Tapestry full time. And it\u2019s even more special to be able to come back and see all the growth that\u2019s happened in the last year, and to be part of communicating that growth.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bringing experience in social media and podcasting, Jasleen is looking forward to the creativity a marketing and communications role offers. \u201cThat type of work doesn\u2019t feel like work to me, it\u2019s so fun. I get to talk to people, have incredible conversations, and then be creative about how I present the information.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In her free time, Jasleen volunteers with a nonprofit supporting girls growing up in Vancouver\u2019s Downtown Eastside. Having participated in the program while she was in high school, Jasleen describes another \u201cfull circle moment\u201d in being able to volunteer and support the next generation. Jasleen also facilitates youth programs at a Vancouver community centre, plays basketball, and loves to bake and read.<\/span><\/p>\n
