{"id":643,"date":"2021-03-01T11:39:39","date_gmt":"2021-03-01T11:39:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tapestrycapital.ca\/?p=643"},"modified":"2026-04-10T15:09:48","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T15:09:48","slug":"join-board-of-directors","status":"publish","type":"story","link":"https:\/\/tapestrycapital.ca\/fr\/story\/join-board-of-directors\/","title":{"rendered":"Join our Board of Directors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a time of exciting growth, our parent organization &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trec.on.ca\/\">TREC Renewable Energy Cooperative<\/a> &#8211; is looking to expand its Board of Directors.<\/p>\n<p>TREC has incubated and launched several organizations that solve environmental challenges and advance the power of community economic development in Canada, including <a href=\"https:\/\/windshare.ca\/\">WindShare<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solarbonds.ca\/\">SolarShare<\/a>, et <a href=\"https:\/\/www.relayeducation.com\/\">Relay Education<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>TREC&#8217;s most recent venture is <a href=\"https:\/\/tapestrycapital.ca\/fr\/\">Tapestry Community Capital<\/a>. At Tapestry, we support social purpose organizations across Canada to raise and manage community investment. Our clients are cooperatives, not-for-profits, and charities engaged in developing renewable energy, and social purpose real estate such as: housing, arts venues, recreation facilities, community hubs, co-working spaces, and innovation centres.<\/p>\n<p>We know that more diverse, equitable and inclusive leadership will lead to greater innovation and amplified impact. This is why TREC is actively seeking to improve the diversity of our Board of Directors. We are particularly seeking representation from people of colour, rural communities, Indigenous groups, and those that identify as LGBTQ2S++, and encourage applicants from equity seeking groups.<\/p>\n<p>In our most recent episode of Caf\u00e9 Tapestry, we had the opportunity to speak to Rebecca Black, long standing TREC Board Member, Co-Founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womeninrenewableenergy.ca\/\">Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE)<\/a> and Designer &amp; Communicator at <a href=\"https:\/\/blackcurrentmarketing.com\/\">Black Current Marketing<\/a>.
