Le secteur de l'\u00e9nergie solaire conna\u00eet une croissance tant en termes d'envergure que d'opportunit\u00e9s. En 2010, Mike Brigham a fond\u00e9 SolarShare, dont il est devenu le pr\u00e9sident, anim\u00e9 par la conviction que nous devons non seulement op\u00e9rer la transition vers les \u00e9nergies renouvelables, mais aussi que ces \u00e9nergies doivent appartenir aux communaut\u00e9s et \u00eatre g\u00e9r\u00e9es par celles-ci.<\/p>\n

Pour concr\u00e9tiser cette vision ambitieuse, SolarShare a lanc\u00e9 les \u00ab Solar Bonds \u00bb : des obligations d'une dur\u00e9e de 5 ou 15 ans qui permettent aux Ontariens d'investir directement dans l'\u00e9nergie solaire, tout en leur donnant la possibilit\u00e9 de participer aux b\u00e9n\u00e9fices de la coop\u00e9rative.<\/p>\n

Aujourd'hui, SolarShare est devenue la plus grande coop\u00e9rative d'\u00e9nergie renouvelable du Canada : elle est pass\u00e9e de trois projets initiaux \u00e0 48 et a lev\u00e9 plus de $36 millions gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des \u00e9missions obligataires aupr\u00e8s de plus de 1 500 investisseurs \u00e0 travers l'Ontario. Le soutien de ses investisseurs a permis \u00e0 SolarShare de prosp\u00e9rer et a donn\u00e9 \u00e0 des centaines de personnes la possibilit\u00e9 d\u2019orienter leurs investissements vers des projets \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques pour leur \u00e9pargne, l\u2019environnement et SolarShare.<\/p>\n
