Event Details
In November 2017, the Federal Government unveiled a 10-year, multibillion-dollar national housing strategy to give more Canadians a place to call home.
With the ranks of Ontario’s homeless on the rise and more households straining to stay sheltered, there are high hopes that the strategy will help to meet housing needs in the province.
But what is clear is that there is no silver bullet and that there’s not enough money involved to completely solve the housing crisis. All sectors – public, private and non-profit – will need to work together to realize these ambitious initiatives.
On July 12th, join us for a discussion on how impact investing and innovative social finance tools can be used to grow the stock of affordable and inclusive housing in Ontario.
This workshop will bring together community service organizations, government, developers, consultants, funders and social finance organizations.
Hear from:
Josh Taylor, Investment and Development Manager, Options for Homes
Hadely Nelles, Business Manager, New Commons Development
Ryan Collins-Swartz, Social Impact Manager, Tapestry Community Capital
Tim Welch, Housing Consultant, Tim Welch Consulting Inc.
Following presentations, participants will be invited to join roundtable discussions.
